Dayat, 21 years old, hails from Kampong Selayun, was hailed the King of P2F 2008 last night. His second song “This Is The Moment” by Eric Santos was fitting for the moment. He walked away with prizes worth B$35,668 including a brand new Toyota Vios sponsored by NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd. He is a worthy champion as he led from the first round and has been consistent throughout the season. He won the Best Performer for the 3rd consecutive times in as many weeks. His strong fans base and SMS supported his cause. JPCC Amphitheatre was packed with very supportive and enthusiastic supporters. More than 4,000 fans were there to witness the history in the making. P2F 2008 easily the biggest singing contests in the earth of Brunei Darussalam. The crowd echoed all wooing by Host Zayn Sabri. It was a fantastic and electrifying atmosphere. All seven finalists rendered songs sung by local artists in the first round. Dayat led Ina and Dila into the next round and left crowd favourites AJ and Ezah biting dust. Despite their disappointment on their exit, the sporting fans continued to support the final concert of P2F 2008 with the same enthusiasm. This time they threw all their support behind Dayat. The crowd stood up to approve the fitting ending to the season. The event was spiced up with the presence of Guest of Honour, Acting Minister of Industry and Primary resources, Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Hamdillah Haji Abdul Wahab. Also with him were Permanent Secretaries at Prime Minister Office, Pengiran Dato Haji Ismail and Pengiran Dato Haji Osman. Ina and Dila walked away with prizes worth B$6,000 and B$2,188 respectively being first runner-up and second runner-up. The contestants garnered 60% of their scores from SMS and 40% from the critics which is made up of Hans Anwar, Marieta Del Mar and Puan Zinlili from Malaysia. Ranking after first round 1. Dayat 2.
